On a quiet, snowy afternoon in late December, Tara and Magi tied the knot in an intimate log cabin wedding in the forests of Whistler.
I first went to visit Tara that morning as she was getting ready at a cabin in Whistler Cay. From the moment I walked in, they had me laughing. Tara had to show all the guys the proper way to tie a bow tie. I think she actually ended up tying every single one. After they had finally gotten everything together, Tara and her crew put on some awesome winter hats and climbed up into a tree house for a drink and a few photos.
Next I went to visit Magi as she was getting her final hair and makeup touches at Jono Hair Salon in Function Junction. The atmosphere in there was buzzing as everyone was filled with excitement for the upcoming wedding celebration.
Tara and Magi’s ceremony was performed by the always wonderful Tracy Kerr in a small log cabin on Alta Lake. These two lovely women spoke from their hearts as they were surrounded by their closest friends and family from across the USA.
After the ceremony and family photos, Tara, Magi and I set off to take some photographs together in the beautiful landscape that surrounds Whistler. The soft overcast of the sky was perfect as we walked through the woods and into a clearing where a creek converged with the half frozen lake. Tara and Magi were so natural together and their love could be seen with every touch. It was a pleasure to be able to steal them away for a few moments and really see who they were as a couple.
The evening celebration was kicked off with the cake cutting before dinner and drinks at the amazing Alta Bistro.
A big thank you to the wonderful team at Sea to Sky Celebrations for helping put this amazing day together for Tara and Magi.
